Brawn GP made a profit of £98.5m in 2009, according to accounts filed by current owners Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix Ltd, having made only £1.3m under Honda ownership in 2008. The five directors, including Ross Brawn, shared dividends of £20m between them, and were also paid a total of £8.4m, with one director earning £4.7m of that amount.

Belgian GP2 driver Jerome D'Ambrosio is reported to have been offered a Formula 1 drive by Virgin Racing. Speaking to Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, D'Ambosio has described the offer as a once in a lifetime chance - but Virgin want the 24-year-old to bring 5m ( ) euros in sponsorship.

Jarno Trulli honoured a promise in Italy. Back in Monaco, Trulli had brought his and Karun Chandhok's races to a premature end when he launched his Lotus over the top of the HRT at Rascasse. As a way of saying sorry for what could have been Chandhok's best finish in F1, Trulli offered to get his rival a case of fine wines from his Podere Castorani vineyard, and he duly delivered it in the paddock at Monza.

Having lost his Sauber seat to Nick Heidfeld, 39-year-old Spanish driver Pedro de la Rosa could end up at Hispania in 2011. Sports newspaper Diario AS reports the struggling team 'would like to have a high quality driver like Pedro as team-mate for Bruno Senna'.
