South Korean tyre manufacturer Kumho has entered the race to become the new tyre supplier to Formula 1 next season with a letter of intent to motorsport's governing body, the FIA. Michelin, Pirelli and Avon are already in contention although existing supplier Bridgestone may reconsider its decision to quit the sport.

McLaren's Lewis Hamilton has predicted that the the congestion at this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix could be a "disaster" with three new teams added to the field since last year.

Hamilton is to unveil a new helmet design for Monaco. Last year he took to the street circuit with his race number picked out in diamonds on his helmet.

Williams technical director Sam Michael is demanding further improvement from his team, saying that a return of two points from their race weekend in Barcelona was "not good enough".
