After a fast start in the Artic Lapland Rally, 2007 F1 champion Kimi Raikkonen crashed into a tree during the second stage. Raikkonen, who will race in this season's World Rally Championships, and co-driver Kaj Lindstrom were unhurt and got the car back on the road.

Former Renault driver Nelson Piquet Jr will take part in his first US-based race on 6 February since leaving F1 when he drives a Toyota in the ARCA series at Florida's Daytona International Speedway.
