The Michael Schumacher camp is still giving nothing away while refusing to quell rumours linking the 40-year-old with a return to Formula 1, with his manager Willi Weber telling German publication Express that he "doesn't know yet" what the seven-time champion's plans for 2010 are.

The Donington administrators reacted to Silverstone's British Grand Prix deal with a hardy optimism, claiming that they were talking to three parties with a view to doing a deal to run the circuit as a club and national venue. But with a dug-up track and a £1m bill awaiting anyone who wants to make it fit to race, Donington's past has never looked more fabled. It now seems that the Donington of Senna and Rossi, twin wet-weather wizards, is on a slippery slope.
