The German's world title dream was ended by Jenson Button in Brazil but he aims to bounce back at Formula 1's inaugural day/night race on Sunday. "First place has gone now but we will attack intensively to make sure we come second," the 22-year-old said. "It was still a great season for the team, they were outstanding this year." Red Bull are assured of second place in the constructors' championship and Vettel has a two-point advantage over Brawn's Rubens Barrichello in the drivers' battle after finishing fourth in Sao Paulo.  | There was not one big problem this year for us at Red Bull, but there were many small ones |
The team went into the 2009 season chasing a first grand prix win and ended it as the nearest rivals to constructors' champions Brawn GP. Red Bull have achieved five race victories in 2009 so far, with Vettel grabbing three wins and his team-mate Mark Webber two. "The team is very proud of what we have achieved this season and that gives us all power to attack next year. "But first I will do everything I can to win second place on Sunday." Vettel is quick to salute Brawn's new world champion and insists the team must learn from their mistakes if they are to be competitive next season. "Jenson Button absolutely deserves to be world champion. He got the most points during the season, there is no doubt about that, all I can do is congratulate him. "There was not one big problem this year, there were many small ones. "If you look at the races you can see that at one time the strategy was not perfect. Other times we made mistakes, the pit stops were not good, or I did something wrong. "These things are all part of a learning process. For next year we have to analyse what it was and then learn from it so that we don't make the same mistakes again. "There are some things we need to improve and the team is working on building a real good car for next year. "I am highly motivated, first for the next race in Abu Dhabi and then for next year." Sunday's season-closing race at the new Yas Marina circuit begins at 1700 local time and will finish under floodlights. "Starting to race at daylight and ending in the dark will be a new experience for all of us," admitted Vettel. "We know all about driving in the day time, and we have had two night races in Singapore now. "So let's see, how it is going between day and night, especially when the sun is low and we will be extremely blinded. "But we will have quite similar conditions on Friday and Saturday so that we can get an idea for the race on Sunday.
