Jenson Button lines up in pole position in Malaysia but the dark storm clouds behind him are an ominous signal of what was to come... It's an action-packed start in Malaysia as Jenson Button fails to make the most of his pole position Nico Rosberg in the Williams gets off to a flyer and sneaks past Button and into the lead by the first corner Toyota's Jarno Trulli starts well as does Fernando Alonso who passes Button in his kers-boosted Renault after a lightening-quick start Rosberg attempts to build up a lead but it's not long before the weather intervenes and the rain starts to fall in Malaysia The mixture of bad light and massive rainfall makes for awful conditions for the drivers - but Jenson Button leads in the gloom The red flag comes out after 31 laps to signify the suspension of the race as torrential rain soaks the Sepang circuit Lewis Hamilton makes the lonely walk back to his garage - the world champion finished a very respectable seventh in Malaysia There is confusion on the start/finish straight as the teams assemble in the fast-fading light to see if the race will be restarted The Ferrari team try and shelter one of their cars as news filters through that the race stewards have abandoned the race The rain stops but the fading light is also a concern for the drivers who seem to unanimously agree with the steward's decision So it's more jubilation for Jenson Button who is awarded the race win but gets five because less than 75% of the race had been completed
