Hamilton is hoping to create history in Brazil this weekend |
Lewis Hamilton is confident he will avoid further mistakes and clinch the Formula One title in Brazil on Sunday. Hamilton's lead over McLaren team-mate and defending champion Fernando Alonso was cut to four points after he slid off in the season's penultimate race.
"China was another valuable lesson and an incident I will take from and try to develop," the English rookie, 22, said.
"I moved on from the disappointment quickly and since leaving Shanghai, my sole focus has been on Brazil."
He added: "There has been a lot of talk by other people about how Interlagos is tricky to drive.
"That's why I see it as a special challenge, and when I arrive at the track I will study it hard with my engineers and start to get an understanding of it."
Hamilton goes into the weekend's finale knowing he has to finish at least second to guarantee the championship and deny Alonso a third successive crown.
Also in the title frame is Finland's Kimi Raikkonen, who is seven points behind the Briton.
"Whilst I might be ahead by four points, the championship is still very open. I will do what I can to score the points I need, and the rest is out of our hands," Hamilton said.
 | I am sure we are going to Brazil with full equality across the team |
Alonso's relationship with Hamilton and McLaren has deterioriated during the season and the Spaniard has accused the team of favouring the English driver.
The FIA has appointed a special steward to monitor proceedings at Interlagos but Alonso is now confident there will be no unfairness.
"I am sure we are going to Brazil with full equality across the team and two cars capable of fighting for victory in the race and the championship," said Alonso, who clinched his 2005 and 2006 world titles at the same circuit in Sao Paulo.
"Although I am now only four points away from Lewis, I still need for there to be a lot of circumstances in my favour for me to win the drivers' title that are out of my control.
"But for sure I will be doing everything that is under my control to make it happen. I have to do my bit and then hope everything else falls into place."
