Alexander Wurz bowed out of Formula One at the end of 2007, accepting that it was the right time to stop.

Williams gave him a second chance at a racing career in Formula One thanks to a gamble he took at the end of 2005.

After five years as McLaren test driver - including third place in a one-off race in 2005 - he switched to Williams.

But despite a couple of podium finishes in Canada and the Nurburgring, Wurz paid attention to the signs written in team-mate Nico Rosberg's extra pace.
