Schumacher is in a relaxed mood at Interlagos

Michael Schumacher insists he is treating his farewell F1 race in Brazil this weekend the same as any other.

The German's retirement is threatening to dominate at Interlagos, but the Ferrari star is keeping his emotions in check until after Sunday's Grand Prix.

"Occasionally it comes up and you feel a bit strange about it, but in general I'm pretty relaxed," he said.

"It's pretty much business as usual so far, so we can deal with this race as a normal one."

Schumacher has a slim chance of claiming an eighth drivers crown in the season's final race.

But he needs to win and see Renault's Fernando Alonso fail to score a point if he is to overhaul Renault's reigning champion.

"I am not here this weekend to think too much about my own title," said the 37-year-old.

"I am coming here for the constructors' title. I have expressed after the Suzuka race that the title fight for the drivers' is finished.

"I don't want to build up my hopes on somebody retiring... I I am just here to do a good race and try to win."

Even if he fails to notch a 92nd career victory on Sunday, Schumacher will bow out as the most successful driver in F1 history.

He added that he was not having second thoughts about his decision to quit.

"It needs a lot of motivation, a lot of dedication and I just feel the battery is empty," he admitted.

"What is going to be my life afterwards, I don't know.
