| Michael Schumacher fired an ominous warning to title rival Fernando Alonso with the fastest time in final practice at the Japanese Grand Prix. Schumacher lapped Japan's demanding Suzuka track in one minute 30.653 seconds while Alonso's Renault was fifth fastest nearly two seconds back. Toyota's Ralf Schumacher was second fastest, 1.2secs behind his brother. Englishman Jenson Button was third fastest ahead of Alonso's team-mate Giancarlo Fisichella.
