Shnaider could make a quick sale on his F1 team |
Midland owner Alex Shnaider is considering selling his Formula One outfit just one year after buying the team formerly known as Jordan. Midland spokesman Ron Fine revealed a Dutch consortium had tabled a bid worth around 68m for the team.
Shnaider told Toronto's Globe and Mail newspaper: "It is one of the most difficult business decisions I have ever had to make.
"I have invested more than money in the team - I have invested my dreams."
Fine added: "There is a very serious offer and we have to seriously consider it. But no decision has been taken.
"Mr Shnaider is looking after Midland's interest but it is impossible to say which way he is going to go."
Shnaider, a Russian-born Canadian who made his fortune in steel and heavy industries, took over Jordan last year in a deal thought to be worth around 26m.
The team began racing under the name Midland this season but have yet to score a single point.
Last month Midland issued a statement insisting the team was not for sale despite several offers.
However, Fine said Shnaider would consider the latest offer although a decision would not be reached before next week's British Grand Prix.
"It's a very good offer and he's a businessman," Fine explained.
"On the other hand, this is a dream of his so it's a very difficult decision."
