The Anglo-French team have joined the rest of the current grid in entering F1 beyond 2007, when the ruling Concorde Agreement expires.

Dassas, who has recently taken over from Patrick Faure as team president, said company boss Carlos Ghosn is ready to keep Renault in F1.

"Carlos Ghosn simply wants to exploit our Formula One success in acceptable economic conditions."

"If we have achieved the savings we want, then we will be able to make a detailed commitment for the future."

Dassas must also contend with Renault's short-term future, with a replacement for McLaren-bound Fernando Alonso required for next season.

He is putting his faith in team boss Flavio Briatore, who he hopes will stay on at Renault beyond this season.

Dassas said: "This is a key factor, and we will do everything to ensure Flavio stays."
