Karthikeyan lobbies for F1 race
Narain Karthikeyan
Karthikeyan is keen to build F1's profile in India
Narain Karthikeyan wants the Indian government to back plans to bring Formula One to his home country.

The Jordan rookie hopes there will be a race on an Indian track "in the next two or three years".

"I am trying to sell the idea to the government," he told The Pioneer newspaper. "But we have to build the infrastructure first."

Karthikeyan is not in favour of India bidding to stage a street race, arguing that it is too easy an option.
