Schumacher eyes Ferrari revival
Michael Schumacher at Jerez
Schumacher's only win last season came when just six cars raced at Indianapolis
Michael Schumacher insists Ferrari can reclaim the world championship this year - but admits champions Renault will again be hard to stop.

Seven-times world champion Schumacher won only one race last season and was so worried by Ferrari's poor form that he returned to testing early.

"Renault seem to be the strongest team at this time, but we and Honda are not far behind," the 37-year-old said.

"I'm satisfied and see no reason to be less than optimistic."

Schumacher has just finished a week of testing in Valencia and said he was confident for his team's preparations for the approaching season, which starts in Bahrain on 12 March.

"Of course, we encountered a few small problems during our tests but finding them is what testing is all about," the German said.

"But in general things are looking good."
