Australian GP, 2 April. Start: 0500 GMT Montoya is confident he will land a decent drive in 2007 |
Juan Pablo Montoya says he must wait until McLaren team-mate Kimi Raikkonen has decided who to drive for in 2007 before he can firm up his own plans. At least one of them will leave at the end of 2006 to make way for Fernando Alonso, Renault's world champion.
Montoya said: "I'm looking around like everyone else, but you hear nothing but talks of Raikkonen going to Ferrari.
"Or there are people saying he wants Renault, or he wants BMW, etc. All you hear about is Kimi."
But Colombian Montoya is not worried about being left without a drive.
"There could be a place available at Toyota. BMW will have to try to improve. And the same goes for Renault.
"If you look around there's nothing but available seats," he told Italian magazine Autosprint.
