Bridgestone already supply four other F1 teams, including Ferrari |
New team Super Aguri are to use Japanese Bridgestone tyres for their first season in Formula One in 2006. Bridgestone has signed a multi-year deal with the outfit, whose F1 place was confirmed only last week.
Bridgestone motorsport director Hiroshi Yasukawa said: "The Super Aguri team is a new but ambitious team and we are delighted it has chosen Bridgestone."
Honda-powered Aguri are the fifth team using Bridgestone this year, along with Ferrari, Toyota, Williams and Midland.
The other six are with Michelin, the French manufacturer which dominated the 2005 season.
Aguri, who are expected to have their first test next month, have yet to name any drivers but look certain to sign Japan's Takuma Sato.
They are not expected to race until at least the fourth race of the season, the San Marino Grand Prix on 23 April.
