All times BST; updates when available

0945: Raikkonen proves himself to be the form man at the circuit this weekend. He looks stunningly comfortable through every corner, chicane and straight. His lead is cut by three-tenths of a second by Alonso but it is not enough. The Finn will start on pole.

0944: Alonso does his absolute all in a bid to put the pressure of Raikkonen. His 2:30.4 easily silences Webber... but will it be enough to rattle Raikkonen?

0942: Webber delights the Williams team by maintaining his advantage over Fisichella. His combined time of 2:31.6 is unlikely to faze the last two men to run, Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen.

0940: Mark Webber has been consistently impressive in qualifying this season. He hopes to continue that run as he prepares for his flying lap.

0937: Giancarlo Fisichella, fourth fastest in the first qualifying session, relishes the tight twists and turns of the circuit. The understeer problems of Saturday are gone and his 1:17.344 takes him past Trulli.

0934: Juan Pablo Montoya does not come out for his lap. Having been dropped to the back of the grid because of his part in Saturday's practice crash, his team decide not to waste their efforts.

0933: Any thoughts of Nick Heidfeld moving up the order are scuppered. The German's not a big fan of Monaco and that is summed up with a slightly pedestrian lap.

0931: Jarno Trulli, one of the form men in F1 qualifying this season, will be looking to move up the grid in this session. He struggled after Saturday's delay in the wake of Ralf Schumacher's crash. Last year's winner makes up for that to take a second out of Coulthard. His lap of 1:17.401 gives him a combined total of 2:32.590.

0928: Coulthard had a tough session on Saturday in the wake of his practice crash, which saw wholesale changes to his car. He looks far more relaxed this time around and is far quicker than Schumacher.

0927: David Coulthard, a big fan of Monaco - a past winner and resident of the principality, is out on track.

0924: Villeneuve shows few ill effects from his practice crash on Saturday. In a tight tussle, though, he just misses out on Schumacher Sr's time. He's sandwiched between the two Ferraris... for now.

0922: Despite outfoxing his team-mate on Saturday, Rubens Barrichello tucks up just behind him for the race. The set-up does not look right for the Brazilian.

0921: Schumacher is completely level with Liuzzi at the first time check, but then takes one-tenth of a second off him in S2. Sure enough that form continues all the way through to the finish. He's top for now... but Ferrari still look off the pace on a single lap.

0919: Liuzzi's smile is quickly erased as Sauber's Felipe Massa shaves another two seconds off the top time. Michael Schumacher, meanwhile, is on his outlap and desperately hoping to improve on 11th fastest on Saturday.

0917: Liuzzi blitzes a trail through the street circuit. His effort is two seconds quicker than Friesacher's despite a few understeer problems out there. For now, he's the man to beat.

0914: Saturday's first man out, Vitantonio Liuzzi, pulls out of the pits for his second qualifying lap. He ought to better the times of the Minardis.

0912: In the second in-team tussle of the session, Patrick Friesacher edges team-mate Albers and quite convincingly too. The team will be hoping for good reliability come the race.

0910: Christijan Albers gives Minardi a massive boost by outpacing the two Jordans, in Karthikeyan's case by almost a second.

0908: Tiago Monteiro wins the battle of the Jordans by ousting his Indian team-mate on the timesheets with a 1:23.670.

0905: Narain Karthikeyan is the first driver to set a time. But he fails to set the circuit alive in what is his Monaco debut weekend. He clocks a time of 1 minute 23.968 seconds.

0902: Schumacher comes out in his Toyota but opts against a flying lap, perhaps in a bid to avoid crashing once more.

0900: Ralf Schumacher gets the session under way, starting first after his crash in Saturday's practice session.

0850: There are just 10 minutes left before the second qualifying session begins in Monaco. Kimi Raikkonen goes into the session as the form man after his blistering run on Saturday.
