Minardi made their F1 debut in 1985 |
Paul Stoddart closed a chapter of Formula One history when he completed
Minardi's last-ever lap on Thursday. Stoddart handed the team to Red Bull - prior to their renaming as Scuderia Toro Rosso - at the start of November.
But he was allowed one last test session at Vallelunga to honour outstanding commitments.
He said: "It turned out a more emotional experience than I expected. It has been very touching to have received so many positive comments."
Minardi made their debut in 1985 and went on to start 340 grands prix,
becoming one of the sport's most popular teams in the process, despite
persistent financial struggles.
