1152: Alonso makes a small error in the final corner, running slightly wide, but still takes provisional pole from Trulli by 0.145secs.
1151: Trulli steals provisional pole from Schumacher by 0.244secs.
1148: Heidfeld goes an impressive second fastest in the Williams with only Trulli and Alonso to go.
1145: Ralf Schumacher misses his braking point into Turn Eight and runs very wide. He goes eighth fastest - but would have been second or third without that error.
1144: Coulthard struggles round to 10th place in the Red Bull, and is 0.5secs slower than team-mate Klien.
1139: Schumacher goes fastest in the new Ferrari, despite locking a front wheel into a couple of corners.
1137: Klien goes an impressive fourth fastest in the Red Bull, splitting the McLarens.
1135: Raikkonen, suffering from bad slow corner understeer in the McLaren, can only go third fastest - and he is less than 0.2secs faster than stand-in team-mate De la Rosa, who had to run first in the session when the track was slippery with sand.
1133: Massa goes an impressive fourth fastest in the Sauber, 1.4secs faster than team-mate Villeneuve.
1131: Karthikeyan beats Jordan team-mate Monteiro by just over 0.2secs and slots into eighth place.
1123: Albers is 0.8secs faster than Minardi team-mate Friesacher.
1121: Barrichello, doing his first lap of the day because of a gearbox problem in the new Ferrari, runs wide at the first corner and loses 0.8secs in the first sector. The Brazilian ends up 1.3secs slower than Fisichella in sixth place.
1119: Fisichella puts the Renault fastest by 0.147secs with an impressively agressive lap.
1117: Webber becomes the first so far to beat De la Rosa, as the dust and sand track begins to clear from the track. The Williams is 0.133secs faster than the McLaren.
1111: Villeneuve makes a mistake at the final corner and can only set fourth fastest time, behind both BARs and De la Rosa's McLaren. The Canadian was not quick anyway, even before his error.
1110: Jenson Button beats team-mate Sato, but is 0.232secs slower than De la Rosa's McLaren.
1105: Takuma Sato, who missed the last race for BAR with an illness, is 0.388secs slower than De la Rosa's lap of one minute 30.725 seconds.
1100: Pedro de la Rosa, filling in for the injured Juan Pablo Montoya at McLaren, is the first to take to the track, as the cars go out in the reverse order of the result in Malaysia two weeks ago.
Mark Webber and Williams set the pace in the final practice.
The Australian headed Ralf Schumacher's Toyota and Giancarlo Fisichella of Renault as a number of teams looked evenly matched before first qualifying. Michael Schumacher, racing the new Ferrari for the first time, could only manage ninth fastest time.
