Alex Shnaider has reaffirmed his commitment to Formula One |
Midland owner Alex Shnaider has called for Formula One to help private teams compete with the big manufacturers. The Russian-born billionaire bought Jordan last year and renamed the team after the season ended on Sunday.
Snaider, who again ruled out selling the team, said: "The rules must change because it is impossible for a private team to compete with manufacturers.
"The resources the manufacturers have are much greater than a private team, no matter how rich the backers are."
Shnaider is confident that Jordan's final season has helped lay the foundations for a better future under the Midland banner.
"More or less everything went according to plan," he said. "We learned a lot and improved the team as much as is possible.
"We are looking forward to next year with the rebranding. We want to improve the team further and take more steps forward.
"Certain ingredients we definitely have but there are other teams that have all the right ingredients and they are still not having good results.
"So you never know, it's not only the ingredients, it's how you mix them together."
