2355 GMT: Giancarlo Fisichella extends his advantage at the front to 2.969secs and will start a hot favourite to win the first race of the Formula One season.
2352 GMT: Jarno Trulli has a sideways moment early in his lap but holds it together to take provisional pole by 0.567secs.
2347 GMT: Christian Klien fails to keep his place ahead of team-mate David Coulthard by 0.265secs, meaning Coulthard has impressively made up more than a second on the Austrian in his lap on final qualifying.
2341 GMT: David Coulthard comfortably slots into first place - but has he made up the 0.9secs he needed to leapfrog ahead of team-mate Christian Klien, who was faster than him on Saturday?
2337 GMT: Jenson Button slots into first place in the BAR by 2.5secs.
2335 GMT: India's first Grand Prix driver Narain Karthikeyan, who was ninth fastest on Saturday, loses three places, to the two McLaren drivers and Rubens Barrichello's Ferrari.
2333 GMT: Kimi Raikkonen gets on to the grass coming out of Turn 12 and loses a place to team-mate Juan Pablo Montoya by 0.913secs on combined times.
2328 GMT: McLaren's Juan Pablo Montoya manages to keep his place ahead of Rubens Barrichello by 2.1secs.
2325 GMT: Portuguese rookie Tiago Monteiro slots in between Fernando Alonso and Ralf Schumacher.
2319 GMT: Fernando Alonso heads out of the pits in his Renault and comfortably goes fastest by 5.2secs.
2316 GMT: Christijan Albers is wheeled back into the Minardi pit with a gear selection problem, and fails to get out of the pits in the allotted time.
2313 GMT: Patrick Friesacher's Minardi sets a combined time 5.6secs slower than Ralf Schumacher's Toyota.
2308: Ralf Schumacher heads out of the pits in his Toyota and becomes the first man to do a flying lap, setting a combined time of three minutes 22.717 seconds.
2306: Michael Schumacher heads out for his warm-up lap - and, like Sato, comes straight back into the pits.
2304: Sato goes out for his warm-up lap but comes straight into the pits. This is because he had not set a time after crashing in first qualifying so doing a quick lap on Sunday would make no difference to his position, but going out means BAR can check his car for problems.
2300 GMT: Sauber's Felipe Massa, having not set a time on Saturday, is not going out for a lap and so will start from the back or the pit lane. The decision gives Sauber the chance to fill his car up with fuel and run a long first stint in the race.
Ferrari have changed Michael Schumacher's engine, which will put him to the back of the grid and mean he starts just ahead of Massa.
BAR's Takuma Sato is also said to have had a new engine fitted.
