Dominguez may be in F1 in 2006 |
Mexican Champ Car competitor Mario Dominguez has turned down the chance to be Jordan's reserve driver this season. But it appears that the 29-year-old could still race for the Formula One team when they become Midland in 2006.
"I have signed a letter of intent to drive for Midland Jordan in 2006," Dominguez told autoracing1.com website.
"I was offered a deal to be the Friday driver for 2005, but I had to turn it down because I have a Champ Car deal for 2005 and I intend to honour it."
Russian-born Canadian businessman Alex Shnaider bought the Jordan team in January.
