Nick Heidfeld will miss the Brazilian Grand Prix after breaking his shoulder in a cycling accident. "He cannot drive in Brazil, he has broken his shoulder," said Heidfeld's manager Werner Heinz.
Heinz said no decision had been taken over Heidfeld's participation in the rest of the Formula One season.
The Williams driver was recuperating from a crash in testing at Monza last month when he fell off his bike after a collision with a motorbike.
Heidfeld has missed the last two races with Antonio Pizzonia filling in.
The German may have raced for Williams for the last time if he is made to make way for British BAR driver Jenson Button in 2006.
