Schumacher tipped for more glory
Michael Schumacher
Ferrari star Schumacher won a seventh F1 world title last year
Renault's top engineer has predicted seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher will set the standard in Formula One again this season.

Pat Symonds helped guide the German driver to world titles at Benetton in 1994 and 1995.

And he said: "I think there's a lot of life in him yet. I said earlier that it is going to be the intelligent guy who wins races this year.

"Well, the most intelligent guy out there is Michael."

Renault, who finished last season's world championship third overall, will launch their 2005 contender at Monaco on 1 February.

And Symonds expects even more improved performance from the car.

He said: "For the second year running we are going to be starting the season with more power than we finished the previous season.

"We fired up our new car on Wednesday. It all looks good. It's on test rigs at the moment and we're getting some basic data and checks before we go off testing in about 10 days time."
