Venezuela's Pastor Maldonado will test for the Minardi F1 team this month. The 19-year-old former kart driver will be put through his paces at Italy's Misano circuit on 22 November.
Maldonado switched from karting to single-seater competition in 2002, winning the Italian Formula Renault title a year later.
"He has only been racing single-seaters for three seasons, but his winning ways indicate a lot of natural ability," said Minardi chief Paul Stoddart.
