David Coulthard's hopes of a good performance at the German Grand Prix took a dent after he spun twice in the same place in practice at Hockenheim. The Scot, who was only 11th quickest and well behind second-placed team-mate Kimi Raikkonen, blamed handling problems with his car.
"There is some evidence of some catching on the front suspension so they are going to check that out.
"I haven't had a spin in a long time so it's a bit strange." he said.
The Scot admitted he was relieved not to have suffered an injury.
"The first one was very strange, very high speed, just hit the brakes and went - thankfully there was no barrier and no gravel there otherwise it could have got messy.
"Obviously Kimi is driving a different car and all I can do is try to react to how the car feels.
"If it is chucking me off the circuit then there has to be reason for that.
"If we find something and fix it, it is retrievable but if they don't we are in for a difficult weekend. I think certainly from Kimi's run we look quite competitive," he said.
