David Coulthard was philosophical about the shunt with Rubens Barrichello that cost the Scot a possible podium finish in the Japanese Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver crashed into Coulthard while trying to pass on lap 38, taking both men out of the race.
"Rubens took a dive down the inside from a long way back and it was a little optimistic," Coulthard said.
"But when you consider what I did to Ralf Schumacher in China you have to say it's payback."
Coulthard said his move on the Williams driver in Shanghai two weeks ago was similarly optimistic.
Barrichello said: "I got him by surprise. I don't know if he didn't see me or what. The impact was quite severe.
"It wasn't like a crazy move or anything but you can see on TV he is turning so quickly into the corner."

Until the collision, Coulthard had been in the thick of an exciting battle for second with Ralf Schumacher and Jenson Button.
Barrichello was out of synch with Coulthard but was trying to make up time after being held up earlier in the race.
"He took a gamble and it didn't work out," Coulthard added.
"It's just one of those things that happen when you're battling for places. It was a good race until then," Coulthard said.
"The incident broke the front right-hand suspension and that was it."
"I gained a place at the start but got stuck behind (Mark) Webber. However, when I finally got past, I was immediately able to speed up.
"It was a shame for things to end this way. It would have been nice to have scored five points or even more."
