Button has made an impressive start to the season |
BAR team chief David Richards believes Jenson Button will be the driver who finally brings an end to Michael Schumacher's winning run for Ferrari. Schumacher is on course for a seventh world title after equalling Nigel Mansell's record of five straight victories at the start of a season.
"Michael is pretty invincible, pretty awesome. The interesting question is who will break his record.
"I think it'll be Jenson. He feels very positive about it," said Richards.
Button has yet to claim his first Grand Prix victory but has managed three podium places for BAR so far this season.
He achieved his best F1 finish with second place at Imola, having started from pole.
The British driver had high hopes of another good finish at the Spanish Grand Prix but a mistake in qualifying left him in 14th on the grid. He fought his way through the field to finish eighth, and in the points for the fifth race in a row.
