Friday's practice times

Michael Schumacher has set out his stall for another weekend of domination by going fastest in Friday practice at the Spanish Grand Prix.

His lap of one minute 15.658 seconds, set in the first session, remained unbeaten in the afternoon.

BAR's Jenson Button set the pace in the second hour to go second fastest overall, ahead of Schumacher's Ferrari team-mate Rubens Barrichello.

David Coulthard was 13th on another troubled day for McLaren.

Team-mate Kimi Raikkonen, who has borne the brunt of McLaren's catastrophic reliability this season, stopped out on the track with an electrical failure.

Schumacher said he was "looking forward to being competitive over the rest of the weekend".

Button, who was the only man able to take the fight to Schumacher in the last Grand Prix, was optimistic about his chances.

"I'm happy with the balance of the car," the Englishman said. "Generally, it looks like this is going to be another positive weekend for us."

BAR test driver Anthony Davidson continued his impressive form from the morning session by going second fastest in the afternoon, just 0.253secs slower than Button.

BAR's second race driver, Takuma Sato, could only manage four laps and the 18th fastest time in the afternoon session.

Toyota test driver Ricardo Zonta was third fastest in the second session, ahead of Ralf Schumacher's Williams, Fernando Alonso of Renault and the two Ferraris, with Barrichello ahead.

Alonso, who was second behind Michael Schumacher at last year's Spanish Grand Prix, said his car was causing him some problems.

"The handling of the car still needs to be improved because it is a little nervous at the rear," he said.
