Montoya has had a disappointing season |
Williams are confident they will emerge stronger for the 2005 Formula One season after problems this campaign. The team have been left chasing the likes of Renault and BAR as well as the all-conquering Ferrari team.
"It's obviously a long road and we have made a lot of changes recently but the strength in depth is still there," said technical director Sam Michael.
"We had a poor year this year but the strength we have built this year will really help us next year."
BMW engine chief Mario Theissen has set Williams a target of closing the gap on Ferrari before the end of the season to prove they are capable of challenging for the 2005 championship.
"We have been ahead of target for four years but this year is the first time we are not ahead of target.
"We are working hard in improving the way we work together and linking the resources to each other," he said.
