Montoya denies move regrets
Williams driver Juan Pablo Montoya
Montoya has no second thoughts about his McLaren move
Juan Pablo Montoya says he has no regrets about signing for McLaren next season, even if his first season ends in disappointment.

McLaren are second only to Ferrari in the number of races they have won over the years, but this year they have made their worst start in over a decade.

"It doesn't worry me that they're bogged down. If the first year is a disaster, it doesn't matter," he said.

"I feel their future potential is very good. I made the right decision."

McLaren signed Williams driver Montoya last year, saying his talent was "too good to miss", but he is currently having no more luck than his new team and already trails defending champion Michael Schumacher by 18 points.

"Right now, they have had lots of bad luck with the car, more than anything the motor," he said.

"They've done lots of things that are very good for the future but right now it's very difficult.

"The truth is that it seems better to join McLaren with a car that is fast but not the winner because if you join McLaren and they've got the winning car you're just joining the winning team, which isn't as worthwhile."
