Pizzonia has happy memories of Spa |
Antonio Pizzonia is hoping history repeats itself when he competes in this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix. The Brazilian, standing in for the injured Ralf Schumacher, clinched the British Formula Three Championship at the Spa Francorchamps track in 2000.
Pizzonia admitted: "I have good memories of Spa. I can't wait to drive a Formula One car around it."
He is deputising for Schumacher in the Williams as the German recovers from injuries sustained at Indianapolis.
Pizzonia has finished seventh in both the German and Hungarian Grands Prix and is raring to go in Belgium.
He said: "Spa is a very special place. I spent the week after the Hungarian race at home in Monaco, training hard in preparation for this race."
