Davidson managed to complete 94 laps, but had trouble along the way

Testing was halted prematurely last week in Barcelona when both Anthony Davidson and Takuma Sato's cars suffered engine difficulties.

But BAR engineering director Shuhei Nakamoto said: "We have identified the problems and are looking forward to making up the time lost next week."

BAR had numerous engine failures during races last year.

Briton Jenson Button was agonisingly sidelined at the US Grand Prix while in the lead and heading for the first podium finish of his career.

BAR have been testing with a "concept car" before launching their 2004 challenger in Barcelona on 1 February.

And technical director Geoffrey Willis is pleased with the overall results, despite the teething problems.

He said: "We have had several new specification engine failures, for which Honda has now identified the cause.

"Otherwise the cars have continued to run faultlessly."
