Ralf Schumacher said Bahrain's new Formula One circuit was the best yet after completing an inspection lap of the track as a passenger.

Bahrain is due to host the Middle East's first Grand Prix near Manama on 4 April, the third round of the season.

"It's the best, most modern, I have seen," the German Williams driver said.

"It is complete. They are doing an amazing job. The most important thing in F1 is overtaking and I have seen three opportunities for that."

He added: "From my drive around this circuit it is obvious that it will be fast, challenging and very demanding.

"It has a combination of slow and very fast corners with a very, very long straight."
