Newly formed Dudley Heathens have been given the go-ahead to compete in the third tier of the National League during the 2010 season. The club, a revival of Cradley Heathens, who folded in 1995, will be based at Wolverhampton's Monmore Green and Birmingham's Perry Barr tracks. "This is a wonderful boost for us all," said chairman Nigel Pearson. "Ever since we announced the plans, we have been keeping our fingers crossed and now it has become reality." Heathens start the season at Perry Barr on Wednesday, 7 April against the USA Dream Team, with their league campaign starting the following week at Wolverhampton.
