Road racer Ryan Farquhar has been named as the NGK Enkalon Irish Motorcyclist of the Year for 2009. The 33-year-old topped the voting among local motorcycling enthusiasts after taking his tally of Irish national road race victories to 121 this season. The Dungannon rider also tasted success at the Ulster Grand Prix. Jonathan Rea was second in the vote, World Supersport runner-up Eugene Laverty third, then Alastair Seeley, Michael Dunlop and Jamie Hamilton.
