The Brummies are still in contention for the Premier League title |
Rusty Harrison makes his first home appearance for Birmingham as they host Newport on Wednesday night. The 27-year-old from South Australia has replaced the under-performing Robert Ksiezak in the Brummies line-up. The South Wales club include former Birmingham rider Marek Mroz who was released at Perry Barr earlier this season after mechanical problems. "Newport are a tough test, they have riders who do well around our track," said Brummies boss Graham Drury. The visitors also include Wolves asset Chris Kerr at reserve and former Elite League rider Leigh Lanham is one of their heat leaders. Birmingham are seeking revenge for a home defeat against Newport in the Premier Trophy in April.
