Elsmore won his first Wyedean Rally back in 2001

Coleford's Nik Elsmore won his second Wyedean Rally at the weekend, beating fellow Mitsubishi Lancer EV09 driver Daniel Barry by just 15 seconds.

Elsmore and co-driver Craig Drew were victorious after completing a testing course in a snowy Forest of Dean.

Andy Burton, the defending champion, led through the first two stages but lost vital time in the third.

Nigel Griffiths came home in fourth behind Burton's Peugeot Cosworth, with Thomas Naughton finishing in fifth.

The Wyedean Rally, based out of Chepstow Racecourse, is the first event in the eight-round BTRDA Championship, which concludes with the Cambrian event in Wales in October.

Elsmore is now just one win off his father Graham's record in the event.
