Riki Christodoulou closed the gap on his cousin Adam at Snetterton

Sutton Coldfield's Riki Christodoulou took advantage of his cousin Adam's, misfortune to close the gap in the Formula Renault Championship race.

Adam, from Lichfield, crashed out of the first race and came fifth and fourth in the latest rounds at Snetterton.

Riki claimed two third places to cut Adam's lead at the top of the championship from 50 to 28 points.

"Everything's still to play for in the title race and I'm determined for some

big scores next time," said Riki.

"Although I've closed the gap in the championship, I'm massively disappointed not to have scored a win at Snetterton," he added.

The next two rounds of the championship are at Oulton Park on 27 July.
