Rob Huff demands better in Mexico |
Cambridgeshire's World Touring Cars driver Rob Huff is hoping to kick-start his season with a points haul in rounds three and four in Mexico this weekend. The Chevrolet driver failed to finish either of the first two rounds in Brazil in March. Huff told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "It was a tough time in Brazil but we're going to come fighting back in Mexico." "I'm in my fourth year with Chevrolet now and I'd like to give something back by winning the championship." | When we return to European soil it will be a much more level playing field |
It was a poor opening weekend for Huff and his Chevrolet team-mates, with neither he, Alain Menu nor Nicolas Larini finishing the first race in Curitiba. Huff said: "I will take each round as it comes and try to take the best away from it that I can." As Huff did not score any points in Brazil his car will not be loaded with any ballast for the rounds in Mexico. "We can capitalise on everyone else having the [extra] weight and we can put our car to good use," he added. SEAT drivers Yvan Muller and Gabriele Tarquini share the lead in the drivers championship with 14 points. Huff said: "Yvan and Gabriele will have maximum ballast so that will slow them down a little bit. "Their turbo-diesel engine works more efficiently at higher altitude so when we return to European soil it will be a much more level playing field."
