 Castroneves was celebrating his first victory since last June |
Brazil's Helio Castroneves used a well-timed late pit stop to win the Indy Racing League race in St Petersburg, Florida. It was Castroneves' first win of the new season and he capitalised after rival Scott Dixon took extra time in a fuel-only stop.
Dixon was second, ahead of Tony Kanaan and Bryan Herta and Vitor Meira.
Dan Wheldon finished 16th while Dario Franchitti, who started from pole, saw his car come to a stop early on.
The race finished under caution after South African Tomas Scheckter and Buddy Rice crashed in the fourth turn with three laps to go.
