Manning could not finish higher than fourth in 24 Indycar starts |
Englishman Darren Manning has lost his drive at Indycar team Ganassi Racing. Owner Chip Ganassi pointed in a statement to Manning's failure to win a race in the Indy Racing League as a reason for the split.
Manning will not be replaced for Sunday's race at Michigan, leaving former IRL champion Scott Dixon and Ryan Briscoe as Ganassi's drivers.
"The team does regret that we weren't able to bring him to the victory circle in our time together," said Ganassi.
"But Darren did a great job for us and we were very happy to have had him as part of our team. We certainly wish him the best of luck in his racing career."
Manning, who never finished higher than fourth, was 13th in the IRL this year, higher than both his team-mates.
