Sam Hornish overcame a gearbox failure to win the AJ Foyt 225 in Milwaukee on Sunday, his second victory of the Indy Racing League season. Hornish produced a strong finish in the scorching conditions to edge out Scottish driver Dario Franchitti.
Tomas Scheckter was third, ahead of Tony Kanaan, with English driver Dan Wheldon finishing fifth.
Wheldon maintained his lead in the overall series with Hornish and Franchitti sharing second place.
There were several crashes, including one involving female rookie Danic Patrick, who hit a wall on lap 126.
