Loeb followed his win in Turkey with a good performance at Le Mans |
World rally champion Sebastien Loeb followed Sunday's victory in Turkey by qualifying for the Le Mans 24 Hours sportscar race on the same day. Having secured his fourth rally win in a row on Sunday, the Citroen driver flew to France for the mandatory qualifying session for Le Mans rookies.
The Frenchman then managed to complete 12 laps around the Sarthe circuit.
Loeb will share a Pescarolo-Judd proto- type with compatriots Eric Helary and Soheil Ayari in this weekend's race.
Loeb, who also competed in the 2002 Nurburgring 24-Hours sportscar race in a BMW, said his first taste of the Le Mans track had been an eye-opener.

And he insisted he had no problems switching from the gravel roads of Antalya to the tarmac of Le Mans.
"It resembles what I have seen on the Playstation game, but it's totally different when you start driving for real," he told his personal website.
"It's a much faster circuit than the ones I know and you really have an impression of incredible speed.
"It's funny because here (in Le Mans) people were asking me whether I was thinking too much about the rally, whereas at the rally they were asking me whether my mind wasn't more on Le Mans.
"Each discipline is different and when I am on a rally I think only about that, when I am at Le Mans I think only of Le Mans.
"I was there to do my laps and learn the track."
After seven rallies, Loeb leads the rally championship with 55 points, ahead of Subaru's Petter Solberg on 42 points and Estonian Markko Martin on 38 points.
