Meeke crashes in Rally of Italy
Kris Meeke
Meeke is hopeful of improving on his overnight fourth position
Kris Meeke suffered a crash while leading the junior event in the Rally of Italy on Saturday but he could still be in action on Sunday.

Meek held a 30.7secs advantage after 10 stages on Saturday before the crash hit his world championship hopes.

If his Citroen team do manage to get to his car to the start, he will start Sunday's stages in fourth place.

Meek is now four minutes and 29 seconds behind the leader, his Citroen team-mate Daniel Sordo.

"To have survived the whole day and end up going off whilst blinded by another car's dust is so frustrating," said Meeke.

"But the rules say I can rejoin for the final leg, which means there is still a hope of coming away from here with points.

"And if the rate of attrition is as bad on Sunday as today then there is every chance of climbing a place or two before the finish."
