Liuzzi breaks F3000 record

Italian Vitantonio Liuzzi has won a record sixth Formula 3000 win in a single season with victory at Hockenheim, the year's seventh race.

Liuzzi won the race at Hockenheim on Saturday to move closer to clinching the FIA F3000 International title.

Liuzzi was beaten off the line by countryman Enrico Toccacelo but took the lead after the mandatory pitstops.

Italian Esteban Guerrieri took third place, ahead of Monegasque Robert Doornbos and German Tony Schmidt.
