Rice grabs Nashville pole
| | Buddy Rice took his second Indy Racing League pole position in a row and his fourth this year at the Nashville Speedway's Indy 200 on Friday. Rice lapped the 1.33-mile oval at an average of 200.967mph (23.257 seconds), to beat his Brazilian Rahal Letterman team-mate Vitor Meira by 0.032secs. American Bryan Herta was third fastest for Andretti Green Racing. Herta's team-mates Dan Wheldon of Britain and Tony Kanaan of Brazil were fourth and fifth quickest.
