Four more drivers added their names to the Indianapolis 500 line-up after Sunday's qualifying session. Bryan Herta, Alex Barron and Felipe Giaffone all crashed during their pole day qualifying attempts on Saturday.
But Herta returned to claim 23rd on the grid, Barron 24th, Giaffone 25th and Japan's Tora Takagi took 26th spot.
Buddy Rice will start the race on 30 May from pole position, with British pair Dan Wheldon and Dario Franchitti alongside him on the front row.
There will be a final round of qualifying on Sunday, with the last seven places on the grid up for grabs.
But there is a possibility that, for the first time since 1947, there will not be a full field of 33 cars.
