Brack has been out of racing for almost a year |
Kenny Brack, who suffered terrible injuries in an Indycar crash last year, is set to return to racing. The Swede broke his back, sternum, ribs, right leg and both ankles in the shunt in the Texas 500 last October.
The 1998 Indy Racing League champion is set to drive Porsche's guest car in the Carrera Cup in Sweden on 19 September.
"I'm still on sick leave after the accident in Texas but I accepted the offer after my team gave the green light for me to participate," he said.
"I look forward to sitting behind the wheel again, especially since it's in Sweden," added Brack, who last raced in Sweden 12 years ago.
"This will be my first race since the crash last year and it is naturally a challenge to drive a completely different kind of car than what I'm used to racing with."
