The poor weather helped Wheldon's chances |
Britain's Dan Wheldon will start Sunday's Indy 225 in Colorado from the front row of the grid after rain washed out qualifying sessions. With qualifying impossible, officials awarded grid places based on practice times instead, which put team-mates Tony Kanaan and Wheldon at the front.
"The car is good. They keep developing and pushing the car along," he said.
Another Andretti Green driver, Dario Franchitti, starts in fourth with Darren Manning in eight place.
